Frequently Asked Questions

No, unfortunately, our program is open to medical students and residents in a Canadian Medical School. However, if you complete medical school outside of Canada and do your residency in Canada you would qualify.

No, Hastings County’s program requires the setting up of a family medicine practice in one of our 14 member municipalities. While Belleville and Quinte West are located within Hastings County, they are separated cities and not eligible.

 

Yes! As long as you practice for a minimum of 5 years after being licensed in one of our 14 member municipalities you are eligible for the program and we would love to have you here.

No, the program is for family physicians that practice full-time family medicine in one of our 14 member municipalities.

Yes! Hastings County program is separate from any provincial incentives, including the Northern, Rural and Remote Recruitment Incentive (NRRRI) which is available to physicians who set up their practice in most of our member municipalities.
