Summer is coming to an end, but do not despair, there is plenty of fun to be had in the Fall! Here is a list of 8 things to do in Hastings County in September:
1) Drumming Circle Night at Faraday Community Centre
September 8 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Faraday Community Centre, Hwy 28 South of Bancroft at Lower Faraday Road corner
Everyone is welcome. The event takes place every eecond Thursday each month. Sponsored by Faraday Township Recreation Committee.
2) Our Backyard Feast From Farm
September 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tweed Memorial Park
This is a culinary event celebrating our local food producers and pairing them with professional chefs. Chefs will create an innovative culinary dish featuring our local farmer’s product. The day will consists of taste testing food; demonstrations; music; breweries and wineries; farmers market; and so much more. Tickets cost $30 for 7 taste testings. Additional samples may be purchased the day of the event for $5 each.

Madoc Fairgrounds & Arena
Horse & Pony Draws, 4-H Open Calf Show, Homecraft & Livestock Exhibits, Petting Zoo, Midway, Vendors, Sheep, Spinning, Poultry Displays, Activities and Entertainment, Pie Eating Contest, Duck Herding Demonstration, Demolition Derby Homecraft & Livestock Exhibits, NEW Petting Zoo & Pony Rides, Midway, Vendors, Sheep, Spinning, Poultry Display.
4) The Water Buffalo Food Festival
September 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mill Street, Stirling-Rawdon
Free admission but samples are $1 or $2 each. Enjoy a taste of Italy in downtown Stirling-Rawdon with a lively street festival. Sample delicious, mouth-watering dishes made from water buffalo products like mozzarella di bufala, ricotta and a variety of meats! Admission is free but be sure to bring your loonies and twoonies for tasty samples! Enjoy local wines and craft beers as you listen to live entertainment. An incredible Kids Zone is available with lots to see and do. Pet and even ride a live water buffalo and have your picture taken with a cute baby buffalo calf.
5) Bancroft And Area Autumn Studio Tour
September 17 & 18, 24 & 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Bancroft & Area Autumn Studio Tour includes 18 unique artists at 14 stops featuring rustic woodworking, pottery, wire sculpture, paintings in many mediums, wood art and wood turning, fibre art, stained glass, fusing, mosaic, and jewellery. An excellent opportunity to meet artists and view or purchase their exquisite creations.
6) Hastings County Historical Society Public Presentation
September 20 from 7:30 p.m. to 10 pm
Maranatha Church, 100 College Street West, Belleville
Historian and Society member Bobby-Jo Morris will present A History of the Village of Shannonville.
7) 8th Canadian Alpaca Farm Days
September 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

8) Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre
