Mission Statement

Hastings-Quinte Emergency Medical Services is a progressive team of well qualified professionals committed to achieving and delivering the highest medical standards. By responding to emergencies in a coordinated and efficient manner, the people of Hastings Quinte Region can be confident in the quality of patient care provided.

To accomplish this, the service employs both Primary Care Paramedics (PCPs) and Advanced Care Paramedics (ACPs).  At a minimum, all ambulances are staffed with 2 qualified PCPs.  When available, ambulances are staffed with 1 qualified PCP and 1 qualified ACP.

The service is committed to obtaining a full-time staffing complement that will allow each vehicle to be staffed with 1 PCP and 1 ACP.

Hastings County now provides direct ambulance service from six separate Hastings-Quinte EMS base locations; Madoc, Picton, Bancroft and Quinte West (Trenton) and two bases in Belleville, as well as a post in Tweed.  When Ambulances are at a base, the Service Committment also specifies that Paramedics will be responding to emergency calls within 2minutes of being notified.
