Hastings County would like to promote its natural beauty and area to visitors to our website.  Do you have digital pictures of Hastings County that you would like to share with us and possibly the world?  If we choose to display your photograph we will post your name with the picture on our website. If you wish to remain anonymous, we can post it that way as well.

All photos must be taken in Hastings County.

Does it cost anything to submit pictures?
No, there is no cost to submit pictures.

When is the deadline to submit photographs?
Digital pictures may be submitted at any time for consideration to be included in the digital photo gallery.

What if someone is in my Picture?
Make sure that if someone is in your picture that you have their consent by filling out a model release form and attach a digital scan of the form with your digital photo submission.

Each Digital Photo Submission Must Include:

1. The Photographer’s Name
2. A Title for the Shot
3. The Date and Location the photo was taken (approximate date is fine)

How Do I Submit the Digital Images?

IThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it mages should be formatted to 72 dpi, and should be submitted in JPG (at high quality), preferably at a minimum of 640 x 480 pixels. Digital images will not be returned.

Photographer/Copyright
Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. Do not submit a photo taken by someone other than yourself. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Your submission of the photo is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder of the photo.

Photo Subject Restrictions
Photos must be appropriate for posting on a public government website. Obscene, provocative or otherwise questionable content will not be considered. Hastings County retains sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content. Photos containing recognizable people must be accompanied by a signed and scanned model release form.

Ownership/Use Rights
Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By entering your pictures, photographers agree to have their submitted photograph displayed on the Hastings County website without any fee or other form of compensation, and agree that Hastings County may make and retain copies of the photograph for archival purposes. Photos will be credited to the photographer named when submitted. Entries will never be used by Hastings County for sale. In the event that ownership of any photograph submitted to Hastings County is contested in any manner, the Municipality retains the discretion to remove and discontinue use of the photograph.

Additional Terms and Conditions
By submitting photos, you agree to release and hold harmless Hastings County and its employees, officers, affiliates, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies from any and all damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind resulting from your participation in this contest, including infringement of intellectual property rights.

Photo Use Policy
Photos displayed on the Hastings County website are copyrighted by the photographer.
Permission to use the photographs is granted for the following limited uses:

1.    Photos may be printed from a web browser for personal, non-commercial uses.

2.    Photos may be downloaded/copied electronically from a web browser for personal, non-commercial uses.

3.    Photos may be used by Hastings County for the purpose of display on the Hastings County website.

4.    Photos may not be sold or used in any way for profit or commercial purposes, including use in commercial or professional websites or printed materials. Photos may not be used to suggest endorsement by Hastings County for a product or service.
