If you are an Ontario Works participant the following workshops may assist you with getting a job.
Service Excellence (3 days) is designed to provide employment-ready participants with the fundamentals of being a service professional. Service Excellence focuses on the development of customer service strengths while working within a team to provide the ultimate customer service experience. Participants will receive an OTEC certificate and pin signifying successful completion of course.
Keeping the Door Open (3 hours) is designed for new participants as well as our ongoing participants who have encountered difficulties maintaining employment. Keeping the Door Open is designed to provide participants with a sound understanding of what it takes to be a productive effective employee. Course is designed to cover issues of Job Maintenance providing coping mechanisms to deal with “road bumps along the way to financial independence “. Keeping the Door Open will provide information regarding Ontario Works policies surrounding employment and non-compliance.
Colour Your Life (5 days) Designed for participants who have been unsuccessful in their Job Search efforts for approx.3 months. This Interactive course is designed to identify individual strengths as well as stressors. The ability to appreciate a variety of personality types is critical for a cohesive work environment. Colour your life will cover critical employment maintenance issues such as appropriate work attire, creating an impressive first impression, Attitude, and Emotional Intelligence . Colour your Life focuses on soft skills essential for employment retention.
Let's Go (3 days) is designed to Jump Start the participant who requires a quick pick me up with resume and cover letter tips. Participants are job ready but just need that little bit of encouragement with polishing that first impression, in class instruction provided followed by individual assessment , completion of course ends with a group outing (putting their polished skills to the test ) submitting resumes to local employers .
