December 2011 - Online Updates Available

October 2010 - DRAPE Imagery available to the General Public
DRAPE orthophotography is now available to the General Public.

September 2010 - DRAPE Imagery Available to Staff
DRAPE orthophotography is now available online to County staff.

September 2010 - Online Updates Available

February 2010 - Online Updates Available
Updated land information and road network posted on the County Intercative Mapping Site.

July 2009 - GIS/Map User Survey

May 2009 - New Edition of Quinte-Hastings 9-1-1 Road Atlas Available
All atlas pages have been updated to the most recent road data available in the Hastings-Quinte region.  Please consult the Atlas table for the most up-to-date version for each Atlas page.

March 2009 - County of Hastings receives DRAPE Imagery

As an active partner in the DRAPE (Digital Raster Acquisition Project - Eastern Ontario) Initiative, the County of Hastings has received its first delivery of true colour, 20 cm resolution orthophoto imagery. The imagery will provide invaluable information and support multiple GIS applications throughout the County.  DRAPE imagery will be available on the Interactive Mapping site in the summer of 2009.

November 2008 -County GIS Releases New Online Mapping

April 2008 - County of Hastings 9-1-1 Road Atlas Released

The County of Hastings GIS section maintains a variety of GIS software, relying mainly upon ESRI products (ArcView, ArcEditor, ArcPad, ArcIMS, ArcServer) for in-house operations, and expanding into new software applications for web-based initiatives (Latitude's Geocortex IMF).

The GIS operation is supported by multiple servers,workstations,laptops and mobile handheld GPS/GIS units, providing staff with a variety of environments in which to develop and support County GIS demands. 

If provided with GPS coordinates, or having noted them from the Interactive Mapping site, please ensure that the GPS coordinate settings on your own system are set to the same standard coordinate system that the County uses, listed below.  Please ensure that you have read the GPS Disclaimer.


County of Hastings GPS Settings:

UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) Coordinate System is the geographic coordinate standard for Hastings County.
NAD 83 or NAD83 = North American Datum 1983
Zone 18 = Referrers to UTM Zone 18 that covers most of Hastings County.

A sample coordinate: E 264520, N 4986347. Easting has 6 digits, while the Northing has 7 digits.
