County Council adopted the old strategic plan in May 2007 and with a new term of Council commencing it was time to review and revise the Strategic Plan for the Corporation. The new plan was drafted internally by department heads during the fall of 2010 and presented it to the new Council in January 2011 where Council enthusiastically endorsed it. The proposed new plan focuses on “supporting people and communities” recognizing our collective roles in making this our mission day in and day out. The Plan also incorporates some new and revised Core Values that each of our employees and elected officials are expected to embrace. We speak to those values in expressions we call our “We believe - We will” statements.
The Plan is easy to read, easy to understand and focused on results. In short, our job here at the County is to help people and communities thrive. This Plan is our collective road map to do so.

In 2005 County Council contracted the services of The Randolph Group Management Consultants to undertake a review of management and administrative processes and management (organizational) structure of Hastings County. The review resulted in numerous recommendations for organizational change and implementation of the recommendations approved by County Council has occurred over the past 3-4 years.
