Our Location
Situated equidistant from the large centres of Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto, Hastings County commands a unique and enviable position in the Ontario region. With the area of 1,473,861 acres served by Highway 401 and Route 2 in the south and Highways 62 and 37 providing north/south access, the County offers excellent road accessibility. As well as these key transportation routes, there is a well maintained network of local municipal roads. Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Railways provide good passenger and freight service. Deep water shipping facilities and boating docks are situated on the scenic Bay of Quinte.
A sound industrial/commercial base coupled with the legacy of a strong work force has made Hastings County the healthy and viable County it is today.
The population of the County has now reached over 135,000. Land values are still reasonable and there is a progressive and realistic local government in place.
Enjoy all-season fishing activities, cottages, boating, shopping, arts & craft shows, antiques & collectibles, limestone caves, sugar bushes, special events, a variety of dining choices to suit every palate, and reasonably priced family accommodation.
Thus, with abundant area, strategic location, excellent transportation facilities, a progressive council, and core municipal services for key residential and industrial areas, Hastings County is a wisely-developed and rapidly growing county which continues to "Work and Grow Together". | | |
